MAN UTD TRANSFER NEWS: RED DEVILS GET NIGHTMARE JADON SANCHO VERDICT AFTER SETTING PRICE

Borussia Dortmund will not sign Jadon Sancho permanently this summer, according to German media.

The

outcast is once again on the market. Sancho has returned to Old Trafford after a mostly successful six-month loan stint back at

Borussia Dortmund

and the Red Devils are now looking to offload him permanently.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed

that Man Utd will try to sell Sancho this summer regardless of who is their manager,

while FootballTransfers understands

that Sancho would be open to lining up for the Red Devils again in the event of Erik ten Hag leaving.

No decision on that front has as yet materialised, however, and Man Utd have set a price of €47 million (£40m) for the former England international. Borussia Dortmund are keen to keep him around and the 24-year-old is willing to remain in Germany, but a second return to the club now appears highly unlikely.

Dortmund can't afford Sancho

At least that is according to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg. Previously, it had been thought that BVB might be able to muster the resources for a permanent Sancho signing after reaching the Champions League final and in case of shifting some players to raise funds, but at this stage, a transfer seems impossible.

"Borussia Dortmund is trying everything to keep Jadon Sancho but we think, and we have clear information, that the chances right now are very slim," the Sky journalist

told his British colleagues

. "What we can exclude at this stage of the transfer window is that Borussia Dortmund will sign him on a permanent deal."

"That's not affordable for Borussia Dortmund with the transfer fee demanded, and it has also to do with salary issues. The only chance to keep him is the possibility to sign him for one more year on loan if Sancho makes clear that he really wants to stay at Borussia Dortmund."

"Right now, honestly, it's too early to say how it will end. It depends on the new manager at Manchester United, or if Erik ten Hag stays. There will be clearer information in the next few weeks."
