Novak Djokovic kept alive his dreams of winning an Olympic gold medal at Paris 2024 by beating Greece's Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals of the men's singles on Thursday.
The 37-year-old Serb - who has won more Grand Slam singles titles than any other man but is not yet an Olympic champion - beat Tsitsipas 6-3 7-6.
But it was not an easy win for Djokovic, who had defeated Matthew Ebden and Rafael Nadal earlier in the competition.
Djokovic staged a remarkable fightback from 4-0 down in the second set, before forcing a tie-break that he eventually won 7-3.
However, this match will be best remembered for the outrageous point that brought the first set to its conclusion.
Serving for the opener and up 40-30, Djokovic produced a stunning exhibition of defending and then counter-attacking to delight the crowd at Roland Garros.
Djokovic was pushed left, then right, then left, then right again before latching onto a Tsitsipas smash and ripping a stunning crosscourt winner past his opponent.
Djokovic will now face Italy's Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-finals.
The other semi-final will see Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime take on Spain's Carlos Alcaraz.
