UNITED STATES WINS BACK THE SOLHEIM CUP FROM TEAM EUROPE WITH LILIA VU ROLLING IN THE DECISIVE PUTT

For the first time since 2017, the United States has won back the Solheim Cup after a dramatic late finish where Team Europe pushed Team USA at the end.

It ends a seven-year drought for the Americans - with the USA clinching the trophy 14.5-11.5 with two pairings still in the field at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia, eventually winning 15.5-12.5 when it was all said and done.

Europe won big early in the day with England's Charley Hull and Georgia Hall winning 6 & 4 and 4 & 3 respectively.

The United States returned the favor with Megan Khang winning 6 & 5, Allisen Corpuz winning 4 & 3, and Rose Zhang winning 6 & 4.

The decisive grouping featured Alban Valenzuela and Lilia Vu. Valenzuela was one-up entering the last hole, but her approach shot on 18 rolled back and her putt to win the match came up just inches short.

With 104 yards to the hole, Lilia Vu's second shot checked up to rest within just a few inches from the cup. She tapped in for birdie to halve the match and officially clinch the 14.5 points needed to take back the Solheim Cup.
