REPORT: CHIEFS HAVE OFFICIALLY SIGNED LONGTIME RUGBY STAR

The Kansas City Chiefs are taking a chance on a longtime Rugby player.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chiefs have agreed to a contract with European rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit. No official details about the terms of the contract have been released.

The Chiefs see Rees-Zammit as a playmaker and could play running back or wide receiver, per ESPN's Adam Teicher.

Rees-Zammit wants to see how he can do in the NFL after announcing he'd try to play in the league in January. He ran a 4.43 40-yard dash in the NFL's International Player Pathway pro day last week, which impressed the Chiefs.

He has speed for days and the Chiefs want to see if they can incorporate him into their offense. Giving head coach Andy Reid another potential weapon for Patrick Mahomes is a dangerous thought.

It's a classic low-risk high-reward signing. If it doesn't work out, the Chiefs can cut their losses and find someone else to help.

However, if he turns out to be great, it'll make the Chiefs even scarier for next season as they try to become the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a row.
