CRISTIANO RONALDO’S TEAMMATE SADIO MANE SET TO LEAVE AL NASSR AMID TURMOIL FOLLOWING CLUB PRESIDENT’S RESIGNATION

The ground is shifting beneath the feet of Al Nassr. Dark clouds loomed over them since their Saudi Super Cup final exit from the hands of Al Hilal. The challenge further grew when the Knights of the Najd president announced his resignation. Now, the latest unfolding development reportedly sees Cristiano Ronaldo‘s attacking partner Sadio Mane bid farewell to Luis Castro and Co.

The shocking plot was brought to light by various sources. Renowned journalist Ben Jacobs initially reported that Al Ittihad is pushing to sign Mane. It seems like even Al Nassr is open to letting go of the 32-year-old winger as discussions between both parties are taking place over the structure, with a loan or even a permanent deal possible.

While the deal has not been finalized, Jacobs also mentioned that Karim Benzema has insisted on signing Sadio Mane from Al Ittihad. The former Real Madrid striker believes his addition will help Laurent Blanc’s side challenge for the domestic silverware. However, there are two players, to be precise, that Al Ittihad is keen to snatch from Al Nassr, with the former Liverpool man being one of them.

Abdulelah Al Amri is the second name that Nadi Al-Sha’ab is keen to bring alongside Mane. Notably, per @TheNassrZone on X, Al Nassr has agreed to both exits, only on the condition that Benzema and Co. cover the full salary of both the players they are interested in. However, reports from @aawsat_spt suggest that while Al Ittihad is willing to cover Al Amri’s full salary, they will cover Mane’s minimum wages with Al Nassr handling the large part. The duo will be signed for just one season.

Be that as it may, these exits will certainly be a tremendous blow for Luis Castro and Co., not to mention another key entity that parted ways with them just hours ago!

While Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. brace teammate duo’s exit, Al Nassr president packs his bag

On Tuesday, Ibrahim Al-Muhaidib announced his resignation plans as Al Nassr’s president. In a message shared on X, he explained, “It is in the best interest of the Nasrawi entity the club should be managed by one entity and be responsible for it in front of everyone. The existence of two administrations may disrupt the success of the club.”

Expressing optimism for the future, Al-Muhaidib continued, “Therefore, in the interest of the club, I submit my resignation. I’m sure the situation will change for the better with one administration running the club. I will continue to support everyone who works to serve the club. Good luck to our global fans”

A key factor in Al-Muhaidib’s resignation was the appointment of Sultan Al-Ghasyan as director of the Al Nassr Channel, which led to feelings of being micromanaged and a further division of power. This made it increasingly difficult for Mr. President, ultimately leading to his tough decision to leave Al Nassr without a leader.

Be that as it may, the burden increases on Al Nassr as they shall quickly look to scout for more replacements.
