MAN UTD TRANSFER NEWS: MANUEL UGARTE MOVE BACK ON AS TYRELL MALACIA DEAL ABANDONED

With nine days left of the summer transfer window, Manchester United are expected to be one of the Premier League's busier teams.

They have already made four signings this summer after a new recruitment team took charge of transfers at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are expected to focus on outgoings over the final days of the window.

But there could still be arrivals, with United remaining interested in a move for Manuel Ugarte. They have been locked in talks with PSG for much of the summer, with hope remaining that a deal can be agreed.

The window will slam shut at 11pm on 30 August, so there is plenty of time yet for business to be done. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Manchester United news.

Ugarte pursuit back on

Manuel Ugarte remains United's top target for the closing days of the summer window. Boss Erik ten Hag is a huge fan of the midfielder as he looks to bring in a new No.6 to bolster his options.

Talks with PSG had appeared to have stalled, but The Athletic report that Ugarte remains under consideration by the Red Devils. There is belief on both sides that an agreement before next Friday's deadline is possible.

But there is also a concern that such an agreement for Ugarte to move before the window slams shut. United do have alternative targets to the Uruguayan, but they appear to be intent on resurrecting a deal.

Burnley make Mejbri move

Burnley have launched a move for United academy product Hannibal Mejbri. The Tunisia international has one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and endured a difficult loan spell at Sevilla last season.

According to The Athletic, Burnley have now become interested in the midfielder, with Sander Berge on his way to Fulham. It is said that both a loan deal and a permanent move are on the table at this stage.

The 21-year-old previously starred in the Championship for Birmingham, scoring one goal and notching five assists during the 2022/2023 campaign. The deal with Sevilla contained a £17million option to buy clause, but it is unknown what United's valution would now be.

Malacia deal abandoned

PSV Eindhoven have abandoned a move for United flop Tyrell Malacia. The fullback missed all of the last season with injury, but has now returned to training, though an extact comeback date is not yet known.

With United having strengthed at the back this summer, Malacia emerged as a potential target for Eredivisie champions PSV. But according to Soccer News Netherlands, they now have pulled out of their chase for the 25-year-old.

The questions around Malacia's fitness are highlighted as the main reason for PSV's U-turn. The Dutch side will now prioritise alternative targets, with Malacia focused on returning to the pitch.
