Lee Carsley has already begun the process of shaping his new staff in the run up to his first games as England's new interim manager.

Carsley was announced as the interim boss earlier this month following Gareth Southgate's departure from the England hot seat at the end of the recent European Championship in Germany.

Southgate was one of England's most successful ever managers, reaching two European Championship finals, a World Cup semi-final and a quarter-final in his eight-year stint at the helm.

His departure saw Under-21 boss Carsley promoted to the senior job on an interim basis as England continue the hunt for their new manager.

Now though, according to the Telegraph, Carsley has already cut two senior performance analysts for his upcoming camp with the senior side, replacing them with one from the U21 setup.

Mike Baker and Stephen O'Brien will not be part of the camp ahead of the two September Nations League matches, while James Rider will join Carsley's staff for the games.

It is reported that the existing strong relationship Carsley has with the FA after winning the U21 Euros in 2023 allowed him to bring Rider to the senior side.

There is thought to be further shake up in the senior coaching staff, with U21 goalkeeper coach Tim Dittmer will also be following his former colleague to the seniors.

Meanwhile freelancers Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Paul Nevin are not expected to have their contracts renewed.

Ex-England defenders Joleon Lescott and Ashley Cole will similarly follow Carsley from the U21s and join the senior staff for September's clashes after their success in Georgia last year, according to reports.

The analysis department under Southgate had played a crucial role in match preparation, with the department, led by Rhys Long, responsible for compiling video clips for every player in every role in both junior and senior departments.

Carsley has already been spotted at grounds casting his eye over potential squad members as he prepares to announce his first group as England boss.

The former Republic of Ireland player has worked with a number of England internationals in his capacity as U21 boss, with the likes of Anthony Gordon and Levi Colwill both speaking glowingly of him in the past.

Their former team-mate Cole Palmer has already become an established member of the England team, scoring in the final of the Euros before Mikel Oyarzabal's heart-breaking late winner for Spain in Berlin.

Other stars who could be line for call-ups from that U21 Euros-winning side include James Trafford, Jarrad Branthwaite, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Jacob Ramsey, Morgan Gibbs-White, Noni Madueke and Emile Smith Rowe.
