Tennis power couple Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas triumphed in the inaugural US Open Mixed Madness event, just months after rekindling their romance.

The loved-up pair beat Coco Gauff and Ben Shelton before sweeping aside Amanda Anisimova and Taylor Fritz in the final to reign supreme in the US Open's warm-up event.

The couple, known as 'Tsitsidosa', also took home $250,000 in prize money for winning the star-studded competition.

It was the first time both Badosa and Tsitsipas have played together since confirming they were back together in June.

'I would say this is like a tennis date,' said Tsitsipas with a smile on his face during the competition. 'A mixed doubles match at Arthur Ashe Stadium is probably one of the coolest dates (with my girlfriend) I could have asked for.'

While winning the competition was the main aim for the couple, it seems spending time on the court together was what made them most happy.

Following their win in the final, Tsitsipas said: 'I'm super grateful that we were able to produce good tennis but also in combination with having a good time.

'To be able to share that with that special person that you spend most of your life with is... What a great night.'

Badosa, who is ranked number 27 in the women's world rankings, then confirmed that the pair would keep their love affair on the court and contest the mixed doubles at the US Open proper.

'Hopefully they'll come out and cheer us on and we'll have the same result we had tonight,' Badosa told fans at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Badosa and Tsitsipas stunned the Tennis world in May when they announced their split just under a year after they went public together.

However, a month later they revealed their reunion on the eve of the French Open, where Tsitsipas reached the quarter-final before being knocked out by eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz.

‘We're together. I will explain why some people make up different stories about us. Not that I care, but I think people shouldn't take it that way,' Tsitsipas said back in June.

‘Paula didn’t do anything wrong, nor did I do anything wrong. It was hard for us being apart and I was going through some hard times too.

‘I would say that I didn't manage it very well either, because I was feeling the pressure of the tour, of my work. It seemed like a mountain to combine these two [personal and professional life] and I made the decision to take a break.'

‘After two-three weeks I realised that she is a person who has supported me a lot and when she tried to talk to me about meeting I felt how intense the love we have for each other is.

‘I realised that this relationship I have with Paula is completely different from any other relationship I have had in the past, I feel that she is my person and we understand each other.

‘And that puts more value in everything I do and I want her by my side as often as possible. So yes, we've reconnected and we're in a good moment.’

The couple once had a shared Instagram account together which ammassed over 87,000 followers.

However, they deleted the account after their intial split and it has not been restarted.

Now they are back together, Tsitsipas has a spring in his step and will be looking to use that in the men's singles.

The Greek player is currently ranked number 11 in the world and will be looking to better his performance from last years instalment of the competition, when he was knocked out in the second round.
